In 1948, Toys"R"Us was born as Children's Bargain Town in Washington D.C., and soon added children's toys to its selection of baby furniture. Geoffrey the Giraffe became the Toys"R"Us spokesman in newspaper ads in 1960, and made his first live appearance in a store in 1968. Meanwhile the toy outlet began making children happy in New Jersey and New York, then in 1992 in Japan. Beginning in 2009, shoppers could order online and pick up their playthings at the nearest store. With its Babies"R"Us locations, Toys"R"Us returned to its origins with products for new and expecting mothers. The legendary toy retailer FAO Schwarz, dating back to 1862, joined the Toys"R"Us family. The online store offers all sorts of rolling toys on two, three and four wheels, from Matchbox cars to Fisher-Price power wheels riding toys, tricycles, skateboards and scooters. No boy's toy box is complete without a Lego set, and Toys"R"Us stocks everything from the basic building blocks to movie-themed Lord of the Rings, Starwars, and Disney Lego sets for endless hours of construction fun. Toy shoppers will also find Barbie dolls and accessories for every playhouse, from the Dreamhouse Camper and the Color Me Cute beauty set to the Barbie Shopping Mall playset. LeapFrog learning toys, RC cars, stuffed animals, and arts & crafts sets round out the Toys"R"Us selection. Toys"R"Us promo codes mean more fun on the dollar with discount playthings.
